I heard it’s something to do with fair use policy or something. But can anyone please tell me why these policies dnt allow things like file sharing etc?

It is of course illegal to download and share files which have been copyrighted or protected by other means without paying the proper fees. Otherwise, File sharing is completely legal.

File sharing is legally used by many people all over the world. I regularly watch catch up tv programmes on ‘bbc i player’, which is free to use. This is only one example of file sharing.

All of this put a lot of strain on their servers and slows down the other people’s browsing. It is unfair to people that only check e-mail and browes lightly to suffer from your mass usage.

What equipment do I need?

Grab a DVR/PVR/HTPC .. Record show, transfer to PC (if needed), convert into good format, upload.

I currently use my TiVO HD w/ TiVO Desktop to do this.

I’m not sure if its a virus or something similar ,even though I have an updated anti virus and firewall.Sometimes my Windows Audio stops working and sometimes file sharing too,I then have to go to services.msc and start Windows Audio again.How do I start the file sharing again so people on the LAN network can copy files from my PC.and I want to know is my PC infected with any virus ?

i recommend u install Kaspersky antivirus 2010 . and then scan ur pc first and than go to (network and sharing) from control panel and share ur Pc .
