Indie director David Gordon Green (SNOW ANGELS) brings a subtle auteur’s touch to the proceedings, approaching the smoking scenes with his distinctively loose feel and giving the action sequences a wonderfully dated sheen that makes them look more like a fight from KNIGHT RIDER than the empty flash of 21st-century blow-em-ups. It is Franco, however, who truly steals this movie–he hasn’t been this charming since his days on FREAKS AND GEEKS: freecomedymovie.

Whatever you call it, pineaplle express, pineapple exspress, watchcomedy, pineapple expess, pineappel expreess or pineapple exress, watchfree and only so many ways to play a stoner, but Franco puts his own endearing, lovable spin on the type, portraying Saul as a kind-hearted, well-intentioned yet hardcore dope smoker. Rogen and Apatow have proven themselves a nearly unstoppable juggernaut; here’s hoping they bring Franco along on the ride a little more often comedymovie.

Download watchcomedymovie film murderer is actually Saul’s main drug supplier, and because of Saul’s access to some extremely rare high-grade pot (called Pineapple Express) the two are quickly tracked down and put on the run. Like all Apatow/Rogen vehicles, the movie deals with the theme of men succumbing to adulthood and all the adjustments they are forced to make in the process. However, unlike KNOCKED UP and THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is just too wacky to offer any lessons comedywatch.

Note: This is the first episode of HollywoodHalo’s HMV 2-part series. HMV 2 will be added shortly.

HMV (Halo Music Video ) is a music video montage inspired by the AMV Anime (Anime Music Video ) Series where anime-fans took songs from all different genres of music and matched them up visually to anime clips from movies and TV shows. In the AMV series, all of the anime clips were matched up to the music in comedic ways to give the entire movie a comedy feel with lots of variations to keep you interested. In HMV, I decided to take the genre that AMV created and apply it to Halo… Of course I added my own style of filming, editing and comedy which most of you can easily recognize by now. It’s basically made up of a bunch of short, funny clips of would-be comedy music videos played back to back linked by static to simulate flipping channels on a TV. Most people may not understand the movie while watching it, but they will probably giggle a bit during some of the clips then stop caring about a plot-line or story, which is the goal.
