An experiment was carried out to find out certain unknown facts about the type of person whom would follow orders given from another unknown person on the video sharing website, Youtube. It was stated in a video on the website for users to create a video that was 10 seconds long and to send me a link to said video via the file sharing site Mediafire. It was also stated that users only had 24 hours to submit a video, or else it would be discounted. By doing this, certain facts could be ascertained as to the general videos created by those somewhat affiliated with the Youtube Poop community. Below are some outlined statistics.
Statistics:
2 of the 27 received videos received were of the file type .avi.
2 of the 27 received videos received were of the file type .mpg.
4 of the 27 received videos received were of the file type .mp4.
18 of the 27 received videos received were of the file type .wmv.
The largest file size of any of the videos was number 5, at 38,022 KB, which was a .avi.
The smallest file size of any of the videos was number 11, at 87 KB, which was a .wmv.
17 of the 27 received videos were sent before the mid point of 12 hours into the experiment.
The first video was received 28 minutes after the announcement of the given task.
3 of the videos weren’t emailed to me, but linked via other methods.
Only 3 of the videos received were actually 10 seconds long when opened with Sony vegas.
14 of the received videos were in widescreen format.
It took 45 minutes and 19 second to re-render all of the videos into one merged video.
Upon first uploading this compilation video, Youtube decided to the sync up.
In conclusion, it is my belief that .wmv file types are superior to others offered, allowing for great quality with minimal hard drive space loss, and as such, is preferred by the Youtube Users.
It is also now my belief that when given a seemingly easy task, people on the internet will do anything they are told, regardless of knowing what the outcome will be or why they are doing a random task.
