The Movie Downloads Review
The Movie Downloads - themoviedownloads.com - is one of several sites that advertise millions of free downloads and then take money for recommending and supporting free P2P file sharing software.
The advertising on themoviedownloads.com is misleading. Visitors may think they are signing up for a service that offers millions of legal movie and tv show downloads. Instead they are paying for The Movie Downloads to recommend and support free p2p file sharing software.
This brings up several questions:
* Is file sharing legal?
o File sharing in and of itself is legal as long as the files are not copyright protected. What they don’t tell you is that a huge majority of P2P network files are copyrighted content and therefore illegal to download.
o The Motion Picture ociation of America (MPAA) has been tough in bringing legal actions against those downloading and/or sharing copyrighted content.
* Does P2P file sharing software normally cost money?
o No it does not. While themoviedownloads.com doesn’t mention what you are paying for on their home page, if you dig deeper, you’ll find that the cost is for their recommendation and support of the free file sharing software.
* Is The Movie Downloads doing anything illegal?
o They bottom of their home page will advise you to follow all copyright laws. Hmm I wonder how many of the millions of files that leaves you to download…
* Is The Movie Downloads misleading visitors?

Piracy, Copyright & Torrents - What Do You Think?

A video about internet piracy and file sharing and my thoughts on them.
Having recently had a popular Youtube video removed due to supposed copyright infringement, I thought it’d be a good time to talk about it.
What are your views? Should piracy be a crime? Is it as bad as other forms of theft? Do you download or use torrents?
